Okunoshima — Rabbit Island in Japan

Okunoshima - a small island located between Hiroshima and Shikoku in the Inland Sea. During the Second World War, the island was a secret military testing ground for the development of toxic gases and other chemical weapons. Now the island is full of cute fluffy bunnies, which are the main inhabitants of the island.

The most picturesque bridges of the world

There’s something magical about bridges. They’re often incredible feats of engineering and design. They’re meant to connect people and places that would otherwise have to exist separately. Crossing a bridge is a singular experience. You’re neither here nor there, but hanging in the middle. You could be suspended over a river, hang in a valley, or climb a huge mountain. Society also ties a lot of symbolism to bridges. They make us think about transition, connection, legends, and journeys.

Ocean Atlas — Statue of a girl on the Ocean Floor

Ocean Atlas — Statue of a girl on the Ocean Floor, The sight of this sculpture, which last week placed at the bottom of New Providence Island in the Bahamas, is truly impressive. The height of 5.5 meters and weighing 50 tonnes sculpture is the largest underwater artwork ever installed below the bottom of the sea and called "Ocean Atlas".

The artist behind the inspiration and creation, is Jason deCaires Taylor, known from other similar installations underwater sculptures. The project is a modern translation of the Atlas of Greek mythology, who is represented here in the form of a local girl from the exotic archipelago. The position of the celestial sphere occupied by the sea, the sculpture has been installed at a location that makes it look that supports the weight of the water.

The message of the installation is ecological and wants to awaken the destruction of marine life, showing how the future of the oceans is in the hands of the new generation. The installation in the water was a technically complicated case. The sections were immersed in the sculpture where it was set and then the team that worked on the project assembled.

Their presence can reduce the time spent on the road, overcoming obstacles (rivers, ponds, precipice) blank that is valuable both from an economic and from a practical point of view. Bridges are distinguished by two main parameters: skipping load (rail, road, walking, combined) and the static scheme (beam, truss, spacers, pontoon). Below is a list of the longest suspension bridges, which are categorized spacer systems. 10 Gloomy Borders Separating the World

This year in London was presented mock "wall" (the border on the west bank of the Jordan River), and the audience was asked to write reports and make graffiti on the layout, like on a real barrier. This problem is considered to be unique to Palestine.

But now all over the world there are more than 50 border barriers, such as in Korea, Saudi Arabia (which is almost completely fenced walls) and just a few kilometers from the layout "wall" in Eurotunnel between Britain and France. The US has also made efforts to expand the walls of the entire length of the border with Mexico. And the walls in the world seems to be getting more and more.

Venue - Pentecost Island, Vanuatu

Pentecost Island in Vanuatu - the birthplace of bungee jumping, but what happens during the festival, the traditional jumping from a height on a rope is not very similar, everything is much more extreme.

This tradition is called the goal or naghol, which translated means "dive into the ground." Men Tribe Ca build towers from 20 to 30 meters in height and jumping from the top of her tied to the ankle vine. Everything, no insurance, only the vine. If the vine is too long or not sufficiently mature, the participant may die - though the last time such a tragedy happened in 1974.
